About Us
Penn Shore Vineyards obtained one of the first two limited winery licenses issued by the state and began crushing grapes in September 1969. They opened the doors of the winery in April of 1970. In 1978, Penn Shore had the distinction of being not only one of the first two wineries to open, but it was also the largest winery, at the time, in Pennsylvania. A tour through the cooperage area brings one face to face with a tall, mammoth stainless steel storage tanks, holding up to 7,000 gallons that could be found nowhere else in the state. All together, the winery can accommodate 175,000 gallons of wine in cooperage.
