Family owned and operated since 1907, Tank's was started by Fred Tank in "downtown" Elmore. At that time only fresh meat and poultry were sold and home deliveries were made by horse and wagon or sled. "F.J" Tank was joined by his son Walter and Elfreda Tank in 1937. It was at this time that a full line of groceries, fruits and vegetables were added making it the first "full service grocery store" in the area. A new slaughter-house was built in 1947 near where the original livestock barn stood - now the current location of the business. Today sees the families fourth generation taking over. Definitely a " family business" through the generations, all family members have helped work to make Tank's a success. Continually changing and growing, the "Tank's Meats Family" prides themselves with the high quality of livestock that is purchased from local farmers and cut continually through out the day - the way you want it cut. Hometown pride and service has always been a prime motivation and it is felt that you have to do your best to achieve the best.
